Summer is coming to a close, but there’s still time to get out and enjoy all the family friendly events in Omaha this August. From the Omaha Greek Festival to the Great Nebraska Beerfest, there’s fun for everyone.

Native Omahan Days 2017
When: Now through August 7th, 2017
Where: North Omaha Community
Omahans from around the globe will join in this week-long Native Omahans Days. Festivities take place in the North Omaha community July 31st through August 7th, 2017. Visitors enjoy a taste of African American culture, live music, dance, art exhibits, parade, food, shopping, trolley tours and so much more.
Family Fun Carnival
When: August 5th, 2017
Where: Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum

Ashland, NE
Beat the heat and visit the Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum for its annual indoor carnival. The Family Fun Carnival is included in the cost of general admission so guests can peruse the museum and participate in all the fun family activities. The carnival will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This event includes make and take activities, games, a science demonstration from our Mad Scientist, a spacewalk, face-painting and balloon animals. These activities will run during the time shown above, but guests are welcome to experience the museum from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Museum is sure to be a favorite for the whole family! Guests will experience a collection unlike any other, consisting of over 30 aircraft as well as numerous other exhibits and artifacts. Our featured exhibit is our SR-71 âBlackbird,â which is considered the worldâs fastest aircraft to this day.
Sweet Corn Festival
When: August 12th â 13th, 2017

Nothing says summer like fresh-picked sweet corn! Lauritzen Gardens celebrates this backyard favorite and Nebraskaâs agricultural jewel during the annual Sweet Corn Festival. Guests can enjoy a variety of activities, entertainment and plenty of delicious, locally grown sweet corn. They can hop on the hayrack ride, cool off with free samples of âNebraska Sweet Cornâ and “Nebraska Street Corn” ice cream from Ted & Wallyâs Premium Homemade Ice Cream, purchase freshly popped kettle corn and learn about corn (and other New World foods) through fun, educational activities.
Omahaâs Original Greek Festival
When: August 18th, 2017
Where: St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church

A Greek festival is a tradition of culture and entertainment where you will taste Greek Food, experience Greek music and culture with Greek Dancing and great family fun. Come out to Omaha’s Original GREEK FESTIVAL put on by Omahaâs very own, St John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church.
Festivities Include:Â Authentic Greek Music; Greek Folk Dancing in full Greek dress; delicious, homemade Greek cuisine; Agora (a Greek Marketplace); tantalizing pastries, and much, much more!
Children’s Activities:Â There will be plenty of activities for children such as face painting, balloons, and children’s games in the Outdoor Plaza.
Maha Music Festival

All day, outdoor music festival presented by Schnackel Engineers. Kids 10 and under free with a paid adult.
2017 Lineup: Run the Jewels, Belle & Sebastian, The Faint, Sleigh Bells, The New Pornographers, Built To Spill, Torres, Downtown Boys, Priests, High Up and The Hottman Sisters.
Great Nebraska Beerfest
